Saturday night was the Nextel All Star Challenge (formerly known as the Winston) at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC. It is not a points race and does not count towards the championship standings. However, it is a fan favorite and very lucrative for the drivers. Matt Kenseth took home the million dollar prize. The race was aired on FX, so I missed it.
Next week: The Coca-Cola 600 will be run in Charlotte, NC on Sunday. This is a day-night race that begins at 5 pm and ends under the lights. This is one of my favorite races of the year.
